Characteristics and Application
Ammonium Sulphate is white or light yellow square or octahedral small crystal. And it is easily soluble in water, its manurial effect is rapid and stable, neutral.
Ammonium sulfate is mainly used as a nitrogen fertilizer in agriculture. Its advantages include relatively low hygroscopicity and resistance to caking, and it has superior physical properties and chemical stability compared with ammonium nitrate and ammonium bicarbonate. As a quick-acting fertilizer, it is also an excellent biological fertilizer. It exhibits an acidic reaction in soil, making it suitable for alkaline soils and carbonaceous soils.
In addition, it has a wide range of applications in industry. For example, in the pharmaceutical field, it is used as a fermentative nitrogen source for enzyme production; in the textile industry, it serves as an auxiliary agent for dyeing and printing; and refined ammonium sulfate is applied in beer brewing.
