Urea Phosphate (also known as UP or Urea Phosphate Salt) is a high-analysis nitrogen-phosphorus compound. It is formed by the reaction of urea and phosphoric acid. It is widely valued in agriculture for its high solubility and unique chemical properties.
Chemical Identity
Chemical Formula: CO(NH2)2⋅H3PO4 (or CH7N2O5P)
CAS Number: 4861-19-2
Molecular Weight: 158.05

Key Physical Properties
Appearance: Colorless, transparent, prismatic crystals or white crystalline powder.
Solubility: Highly soluble in water (over 100g/100ml at room temperature) and ethanol. Insoluble in organic solvents like ether, toluene, and carbon tetrachloride.
pH Value: Acidic. A 1% aqueous solution has a pH of approximately 1.8 - 2.2.
Hygroscopicity: It has a low critical relative humidity (CRH), meaning it is prone to absorbing moisture from the air. It must be stored in sealed containers.
Agricultural Benefits (The "Why")
High Solubility: It dissolves instantly in water without leaving any residue, making it perfect for drip irrigation and fertigation systems.
Soil Acidification: Because of its low pH, it acts as a soil conditioner. It neutralizes alkaline soils and helps release fixed phosphorus in the soil, making nutrients more available to plants.
Synergistic Effect: The combination of nitrogen and phosphorus in one molecule improves the absorption efficiency of both elements compared to applying them separately.
Anti-precipitation Agent: In liquid fertilizer production, UP is used to acidify the solution, preventing calcium and magnesium from precipitating out.

| Total Nutrients (N+P₂O₅) | ≥ 61.0% |
| Water Insoluble Matter | ≤ 0.1% |
| Water Content (H₂O) | ≤ 0.5% |
| pH (1% Solution) | 1.6 - 2.0 |
Main Applications
Water-Soluble Fertilizers: It is the primary raw material for producing high-end NPK water-soluble powders and liquids.
Blended Fertilizers: Used in bulk blending to provide a concentrated source of N and P.
Animal Feed (Ruminants): It is used as a source of non-protein nitrogen (NPN) and phosphorus for cattle and sheep. Note: A higher purity "Feed Grade" is required for this purpose.
Industrial Uses: Used as a fire retardant for wood and paper, a metal surface treatment agent, and a fermentation nutrient.
Packaging & Storage
Packaging: 25kg PP/PE bags, 50kg bags, or 1MT jumbo bags. The packaging must be moisture-proof.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry, and ventilated warehouse. Avoid exposure to rain and high humidity to prevent caking.
